Hi,

Can the glycolic acid peel be used on sensitive skin?

christa van vuuren Answered question 2021-01-19

Glycolic Acid is part of the fruit acid family. This means the molecules are active with acids that can penetrate to the dermis layer of the skin reaching the nerve ends for some patients.

This product however is a 10% and gentle. One would not expect down time because of skin peeling. It is mild enough to use at home.

In saying that is should be used with caution in sensitive skin types or you could dilute it in your hand. Or leave the application on for less time than 3-5 minutes.

Tip: make sure your skin pH balance is correct by using the right cleanser and toner with the fruit acids.
